Dr Roshan Singh is a renowned and highly respected ordained Hindu Priest. His early studies commenced at the University of Durban Westville when he majored in the Science of religion, Sanskrit and Hindi. This created a foundation for what was to unfold in his life as his studies incorporated Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and the primal religions with included the Zulu customs and traditions.

He was initiated by His Holiness Krsna Das Swami Maharaj of India who guided him through the touch light of spiritual knowledge. Dr Singh is well versed in the Vedas, The Srimad Bhagavatam, The Ramayana, The Bhagavad-gita and completed his Bhakti Shastri Degree in India.

• He is a Vedic Astrologer having studied under various spiritual masters of India and completed his studies under the tutorship of the world renowned Dr David Frawley of the American Institute of Vedic Studies.

• Pundit Singh is the recipient of an Award from The All India Federation of Astrologers Societies for his contribution in the field of Vedic Astrology and has received a Gold Medal Award from the Akhil Bharatiya Saraswati Jyotish Manch of India for his contribution towards the furtherance of this great science. He presented a paper on “planning the birth of a child astrologically” which was published in the Astrological Journal of India and was awarded with a Gold Medal for his knowledge.  

• Pundit Roshan Singh is a  qualified  Ayurvedic Medical Practitioner and is registered with EPASA. He is a speaker, negotiator, councillor and a person of excellent repute who’s name has now spread throughout the country.

He has featured on documentaries on Hinduism and a better way of life on National TV on numerous occasions.  He is the author of eight books that have brought enlightenment to his readership.

• He is one of the first Hindu Priests to receive the honour of being appointed as a marriage officer in the Republic of South Africa. This honour was bestowed on him by the Hon. F W der Klerk the then minister of Internal Affairs and later the President of the Republic of South Africa.

He appeared as an expert witness in the High Court of South Africa – Durban, to testify to the fact that a lady has no claim against her husband if her marriage was not registered according to the South African Marriage Act. This ruling is now used by all attorneys as a yard stick in dealing with such matters.

He is fully conversant with the 16 Sanskaars (purificatory rites ) which are essential for spiritual development of a human being. For example he was chosen by Anant Singh (Film producer) to conduct his wedding in the presence of Dr Nelson Mandela and other film stars and dignitaries from all over the world. 

• He played the role of a Pundit in the famous TV soapie “Isidingo”.
