REMOVAL OF NEGATIVE ENERGY

Pundit Roshan Singh

In Sahaja Yoga, negative energy is cleared by awakening the Kundalini and balancing your subtle energy system (the chakras and energy channels). Practitioners use specific cleansing techniques like daily salt-water foot soaks, earth balancing, and candle gazing to drain negativity and restore inner peace.

Core techniques to release negative energy include:

1. Salt Water Foot Soaks

What it is: Soaking your feet in a basin of warm water and salt for 10-15 minutes.

How it works: Salt breaks down and absorbs energetic blockages. Practitioners hold their attention on the crown chakra (Sahasrara) while meditating.

Specialized variations: For severe right-sided negativity (overactive thinking, aggression), using cold, salted water or placing ice on the lower abdomen/liver area is recommended.

2. Earth Element Balancing

What it is: Discharging excess left-sided energy (emotional sluggishness, past attachments) into the earth.

How it does it: Sitting on the bare ground with your right hand palm-down toward the earth, or pointing your right hand toward the floor if seated in a chair.

The Affirmation: You silently ask: “Mother Earth, please take away all the imbalances and negativity from my left side.”

3. The Candle Treatment (Agni)

What it is: Using a small flame (such as a ghee lamp or candle) to burn away left-side energetic blockages and depression.

How it does it: Holding the flame near the left chakras (which are associated with emotions and desires) while meditating to clear blockages linked to lethargy or emotional trauma.

4. Symbolic Surrender (Shoe Beating)

What it is: A specialized technique used for targeted problem-solving and deep negativity.

How it does it: Drawing a circle on the ground with your index finger, writing your name and the concern within it, and symbolically striking the circle with the heel of your left shoe.

The Intention: This is intended to surrender the problem to Mother Earth so it can be managed in the best possible way.
